On New Year's Eve, make a telephone call from one time zone to
another so that you are conducting a conversation between people
located in two years.

First performed on New Year's Eve 1975-1976, Ken Friedman calling from
Springfield, Ohio forward to Dick Higgins, Christo, and Nam June Paik
in New York, then back to Tom Garver, and Natasha Nicholson in
California. Celebrated annually since then.

This is one of those pieces I've performed unwittingly for the past several years. (I didn't perform it this year, however.)

I wonder if this is the same Tom Garver that was the head of the Madison Art Center for a number of years. There was also a Natasha Nicholson art galllery in Madison for years tho I don't know if that is still around. Tom didn't seem like the type to be involved in "that kind of" art.
