In support of our Avantexte Press, which will publish an anthology of pwoermds soon, The Bleed will be an online journal for visual, concrete and experimental poetics.
Submission Guidelines:
Please submit 4 or 5 visual (including asemic works), concrete or experimental lexical poems to [email protected] com. Accepted formats for visual and concrete work include JPG, GIF and PNG. Lexical poems may be sent either in the body of the email, if formatting is not an issue, or in an attached Word DOC or RTF file. Particularly heavily formatted lexical poems, those blurring the lines between visual and lexical, should be submitted in one of the graphic file types previously mentioned.
Beyond the work itself, the editors (who are myself and Mara Hernandez), would like to request that you include the following:
Note that we are also very interested in receiving critical works on visual poetry, so don't hesitate to send us your ruminations on the form! And don't hesitate to pass the word along to fellow friends and artists not included on these mail lists.

- A brief statement regarding your work. This can be a general artists' statement or a specific discussion of the work submitted. Submissions that do not include said will be disregarded. Please note that we reserve the right to make minor edits for clarity and grammar. If heavy editing is required we will run the edited version by you before going to print.
- A photo of yourself.
- A bio. Please include links to your personal website(s)/blog(
s).
