Deadline March 10
---
for this year's nationalpoetrymonth.ca, & in tribute to the wonderful
visual poetry anthology that came out last year, the Last Vispo edited
by Crag Hill & Nico Vassilakis (Fantagraphics), i've decided April
2013's NationalPoetryMonth.ca should be entirely devoted to the
publication of visual poetry.
i invite you to contribute visual poems, asemic writing, collages and
concrete poems to [email protected]
please send high resolution JPGs (1200 pixels on the longest side), a
short bio and a photograph to me by March 10, 2013. collaborations
are also welcome.
(do NOT send me PDFs or word processing documents.)
*Please send only one poem. *
The reason behind this is because otherwise i end up having to process
a whole pile of poems & it takes a lot more work. if i don't want to
publish that particular poem for some reason, but am interested in
your work, i'll ask to see more. you can always send a link to other
sites that feature your work & i'll look. i think the idea of asking
contributors to submit only one poem is interesting because it causes
you to think carefully about your selection, rather than just giving
a range. & anyway i can publish only one per person or collaboration.
if you haven't made any visual poems before, this is a great
opportunity to try. take it as a challenge.
if you know of any other visual poets whose work i should look at,
please send me links to their work.
as usual, republished work is fine, as long as you hold the copyright.
happy new year and thanks for your contributions to AngelHousePress in 2012!
Amanda
ps-i'm also still on the hunt for essays, rants, interviews, reviews
for the essay series & great stuff for experiment-o's 6th issue in
November.
