Across the body of her work, Lisa Jarnot does tone like no other poet I know. Some of the neo-con conceptual poets attempt to create a disembodied tone, one as far away from a poet's personality as possible, effacing, eclipsing, emasculating the cult of the poet behind the poem (sorry Galway, Allen, Robert, and too many others to name--and some of them women). Jarnot's tone is the neo-con conceptualist's wet dream.
