You write: 'I wondered if Grenier knew Saroyan’s work, or if Saroyan knew Grenier’s work'. Yes, they did know about one another's work. Saroyan published Grenier in his Lines magazine in 1964 (vol. 2, December). Grenier returned the favour, publishing Saroyan in This 2 (1971), as well as the essay 'For Aram Saroyan, Who Tells the Truth'. I'm writing about Grenier and Saroyan at the moment, and would like to hear more thoughts or information about the relationship between the two.
