This is "a very strange" poem (by which I mean Excellent), the huge "gap" between the first stanza, and how neither tie in "easily" to the Faulkner, allusion. Unless...

That's my first read of it, anyhow.
Neat poem, Crag! Again, the "seemingly different discourse" between the first stanza and the second (and then between those and the title, to boot) make this like 3 poems in one. Again, "a strangeness," as in Watten's or the Russians "ostrananie," I think it's called...
