to be colonized by words? There would be a revolution of word, a revolution of world. There would be a shutdown of written words (that would be the initial strategy of letters, in an attempt to narrow the power of words over readers and listeners). Spoken words would have a path toward survival, but the revolutionary lettrists would attempt to intercede, to disrupt word. Letters would colonize the discourse of words, resisting the colonization of letters. They would chant:
"All letters are created equal. Not words!"
"The father, the son, the holy letter."
"Don't ask what your letter can do for you but what you can do for your letter."
"You must be the letter you wish to be in the world."
"No letter is an island."
"Don't bite the letter that feeds you."
"Absence makes the heart grow letters."
